Flipper International School (FIS) is a school accredited by the Ministry of Education as a “Foreign Investors’ School”. The School was founded in 1998 by Ms. Menna Selamu and Ms. Serkaddis Seifu with the vision to provide a loving and stable learning environment for preschool age children. Through the years, FIS has acquired a good reputation and has become one of the most sought out preschools and primary schools in Addis Ababa that prepares students for academic excellence.
In 2019, Flipper International School partnered with SANA Education which operates a chain of K-12 schools in Morocco. This partnership will enable Flipper International School to adopt technological advancements in its teaching methods.
FIS is a vibrant and highly effective school that operates from three locations in Addis Ababa Cazanchis, Beklobet and CMC-Summit areas. To further expand its educational services until Grade 12, FIS has acquired 17,000 sqm of land in the CMC-Summit area. Currently, the school is in the final completion phase of a first fully equipped international school facility. The new school facility will open its doors in 2020/21 school year and will accept students from Prep 2 to grade 10.
Since January 2019, Flipper International School has been a registered school of Cambridge Assessment International Education, the only exam board wholly owned by a world-leading university, the University of Cambridge.
